We have helped hundreds of clients and families live more independent and fulfilling lives
Our Gloucestershire based Private OT's provide specialist Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration services across the county including the major towns of Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud, Cirencester and Tewkesbury.
Gloucestershire is located in the South West of England. It's combination of natural beauty, historical towns, and cultural traditions makes it a diverse and fascinating county in England.
Here are some of the things that make Gloucestershire special;
1. Cotswolds
A large part of the Cotswolds, known for its picturesque rolling hills and charming villages built from distinctive honey-colored stone, lies within Gloucestershire. This area is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
2. Gloucester Cathedral
Located in the city of Gloucester, the cathedral is famous for its magnificent Gothic architecture. It has been a site of Christian worship for over 1,300 years and was used as a filming location for the Harry Potter films.
3. Cheltenham Spa
The town of Cheltenham is renowned for its Regency architecture and is known as Cheltenham Spa due to its historical development as a spa town. It hosts several festivals throughout the year, including the Cheltenham Literature Festival and Cheltenham Jazz Festival.
4. The Forest of Dean
One of England's few remaining ancient forests, the Forest of Dean, situated between the River Wye and the River Severn, offers a rich mixture of woodland, wildlife, and industrial heritage.
5. Cheese Rolling at Cooper's Hill
The annual Cheese-Rolling event at Cooper's Hill, near Gloucester, is a world-famous (and somewhat eccentric) tradition, where participants chase a wheel of cheese down a steep hill.
6. Berkeley Castle
This historic castle, where King Edward II was famously imprisoned and murdered, has been the home of the Berkeley family for over 850 years and is open to the public.
7. Stroud Valleys
Known for their industrial heritage, particularly in wool and cloth manufacturing, the Stroud Valleys offer a rich cultural and natural landscape, including the restored Stroudwater Navigation and Thames and Severn Canal.
8. Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway
This volunteer-run heritage railway offers scenic trips through the Cotswolds and the Vale of Evesham, providing a glimpse into the golden age of steam travel.
9. Tewkesbury Abbey
Tewkesbury Abbey is a fine example of Norman architecture and one of the largest parish churches in England. It is famous for its medieval stained glass and the Tewkesbury Medieval Festival, commemorating the Battle of Tewkesbury.
10. The Severn Bore
The River Severn, which flows through the county, is known for the Severn Bore, a large surge wave that can be a spectacular sight and is popular with surfers and kayakers.
