Olivia is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable occupational therapist who has a wide variety of background experience. This enables Olivia to provide the highest quality of services for private clients, medicolegal, education, councils, businesses and charities, and primary and secondary care.
Olivia’s dedication to providing client-centred care is demonstrated through her individualised goals and programmes, and good communication with children and their families to find out what is important to them. Olivia is considered a calm and approachable person which enables her to easily build therapeutic relationships with new clients. She is understanding and non-judgemental of the children and offers a safe space for them to feel relaxed and give tasks a go. Olivia aims to make her interventions creative and fun for children, to increase their engagement and in turn, their achievements. Olivia frequently utilises her transitional skills from her varied occupational therapy experience, such as problem solving, activity analysis and clinical decision making. Due to her experience across all ages (babies to elderly patients), Olivia can really see the importance of occupations and how they develop and change across a lifetime.Â

Within paediatric therapy, Olivia is confident in completing a wide range of assessments and interventions. From recommendations on a child’s handwriting, or providing advice on learning dressing, feeding or toileting techniques, right up to specialised interventions such as seating or hoisting for children with complex needs. Olivia values the importance of each and every child reaching their potential. Olivia has a lot of experience in working with children with cerebral palsy, how tasks can be adapted and taught for their independence. She has also frequently worked with children with developmental coordination disorder, in educating the child and their carers on the challenges they may face and how to work on their specific areas of difficulty. Often Olivia will support children to practise the functional tasks in different ways, as the best way for them to learn and gain confidence is through real life practice. Olivia is also proficient at breaking down the task into specific skills/body movements required, in order to complete targeted interventions to create the building blocks needed for an overall skill acquisition.
