Celine began her specialisation in Paediatric Occupational Therapy in 2008 and, through her working experience across statutory and private settings in the community, in schools and specialist educational facilities, has developed a well-rounded understanding of the opportunities Occupational Therapy can and should afford children and parents.Â
Celine’s experience as a practitioner and a clinical lead has brought her extensive experience working with children and young people from birth to adulthood with complex health needs, learning difficulties, neurodevelopmental and neurological conditions, Autism (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Cerebral Palsy, Erbs Palsy, Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Global Developmental; Delay and Developmental Coordination Disorders as well as physical and emotional difficulties. In particular, this experience has taught her that the voices of children and parents are fundamental to securing the best possible outcomes, the development of effective individualised goals, goal-driven interventions and goal-oriented outcomes at home, within schools, the wider community and the wider societal systems. Â

As a manager, Celine has developed business proposals, assisted and taken the lead in developing services within an educational/NHS setting, gained an understanding of the development of clinical pathways, referral systems and service development plans. She has completed PADR’s/appraisals, supervised junior team members and completed line management supervisions, ensuring clinical team members have an understanding of their role, their caseload and the expectations of the service. She has also initiated difficult conversations with on-site clinical team members which has broadened and further developed her communication and active listening skills.
As a private practitioner with The OT Centre, Celine is looking to further develop her career and confidence as a specialist paediatric occupational therapist, sensory integration therapist and confident leader, pro-actively supporting parents and children to live their best lives possible.
