She also has experience supporting individuals with age-related challenges such as frailty, falls, cognitive impairment, and dementia. Andrea is experienced using comprehensive assessment tools, alongside professional judgement and clinical experience, to understand how impairment impacts daily living, safety, roles and participation; working collaboratively with clients and families to develop practical, achievable goals and solutions.
Taking pride in working collaboratively with clients, Andrea ensures that recommendations reflect individual priorities and real-world circumstances. She joins The OT Centre team with significant experience within acute neurology, working within acute Stroke Units delivering assessment and intervention - often within 24 hours of admission - goal setting, and complex discharge planning in line with national clinical guidelines. She is skilled in balancing rapid clinical decision-making with a person-focused approach, adapting her practice to support both recovery and adjustment.Â
Andrea has developed her skill in independent practice, completing independent living assessments for insurance companies and individuals with long-term and lifetime care policies. This work provides the opportunity to gain a detailed understanding of the client's functional abilities, risks, and future needs. Her reports are clear, balanced, objective and incorporate an analysis of current presentation, disease progression, ageing, and future risk to support informed and fair decision-making. Andrea works effectively independently and within MDT’s, collaborating closely with other HCP’s, Social Care and Housing providers and legal team. Andrea remains committed to professional integrity and clinical excellence and continues to find enjoyment in supporting people from a variety of backgrounds. Â
