Sally is one of the principal professionals in the field of paediatric and neonatal OT services in Wales. She works with Case Managers, Solicitors and health professionals providing a range of specialist neonate, paediatric and adult services in the areas of physical health, mental health, learning disabilities, neurorehabilitation and vocational rehabilitation. Sally also works as the Neonatal Care Clinical Lead developing neonatal OT services for the Hywel dda University Health Board alongside her private practice through The OT Centre. As the former OT Services Lead for Specialist Community Services (Hywel Dda UHB), Sally has also led overall service development and delivery for children and young people, including services for people with learning disabilities and chronic conditions.

Working with children who have a variety of disabilities and difficulties, including Cerebral Palsy, Co-ordination Difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Sally is experienced engaging children, parents, families, schools and carers in understanding and supporting a child’s needs and intervention programmes.

She practises with focus on the client and their family, quickly building a therapeutic rapport to positively identify a client’s occupational strengths and challenges. She understands the complexities involved in supporting a child with difficulties and is confident liaising and communicating with a wide range of providers in the public and private sectors.

Sally provides a range of services including assessments, reports, goal orientated intervention programmes, support, education and support as well as advice on home adaptations and equipment.

Sally can undertake context based functional assessments across daily activities, independence, school and learning, leisure and play activities and family life as a basis for discussing priorities and agreeing goals for intervention. She uses dynamic observational assessment of the activity and the interaction/impact between the child and their skills, the task demands and the physical and social environment. She has experience using activities for rehabilitation, adapting the task, prescribing equipment, training and giving advice to parents, carers and supporting education in the home, community and school environments.
