Beverley has a vast experience as an Occupational Therapist and Advanced Sensory Integration practitioner, providing services for children, young adults and their families. She is one of the first therapists to gain a Certificate in Ayres Sensory Integration (CASI) in Wales, is the co-founder of the South Wales Sensory Integration Network, is a treating therapist on the SenITA research project and is the Welsh Deputy for normative data collection for the new Global EASI assessment.

Beverley works with a wide range of diagnoses including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, Autism, Genetic Disorders and Progressive Neurological conditions using OT and SI techniques and strategies to enhance the lives of individuals with complex medical needs.

Beverley prides herself on being professional, friendly and caring, possessing a natural ability to establish a therapeutic alliance and develop a rapport with families and professionals alike. She has a remarkable breadth and depth of experience working with clients and families who have complex needs both in the NHS, with children in a special school and home environments, and also in Local Authorities working with children and adults.

During her time as a Senior Occupational Therapist in Social Services she received a vast amount of training and experience in moving & handling techniques, environmental adaptations and specialist equipment, working with Architects, surveyors, reps and carers on a daily basis.

When moving to the NHS, Beverley used her skills to implement moving & handling care plans for children with specialist equipment in schools and at home and worked with SENCO’s and moving & handling advisors to implement L.O.L.E.R regs, with regards to health & safety.

Beverley works with Case Managers, Solicitors and Charities, providing a range of services from Assessments and Reports to goal-oriented intervention Programmes, Sensory Diets, Home Adaptations, Equipment assessments, moving & handling advice and Training. She is an effective communicator with extensive working knowledge of health, social services and the Private Sector.

Beverley qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1998 from the College of Medicine, University Hospital of Wales. She developed her interest in Sensory Integration through her senior post in Caerphilly Social Services and was one of the first therapists in Wales to train in SI in that setting.

Beverley is registered with the Health Professions Council and is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists; Royal College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Sections in Independent Practice; British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers and is an active member of Sensory Integration Education.
