Specialising solely in Neurorehabilitation, Ayesha has gained a wealth of experience in both public and private sectors developing and demonstrating a highly specialist knowledge of neurology across a spectrum of complex neurological conditions and cases. As a practitioner in the private sector, Ayesha has a deep understanding of the process of Neurorehabilitation through Assessment and time-boxed, SMART goal-oriented interventions tailored to a client’s individual aspirations and needs.

Ayesha always strives to support the client in every situation and ensure they are at the centre of their rehabilitation. She has learned to deal sensitively with challenging and potentially confrontational situations, developing an understanding of the fears and concerns which are so often part and parcel of a client’s journey. She is confident in defending her clinical reasoning whilst respecting opposing views.

As a team player, Ayesha recognises the value in good working relationships across the MDT towards positive and successful outcomes for the client. Alongside this, she is confident sharing her knowledge across professional groups and also leading, teaching and supervising client support staff.

Ayesha’s specialist interest in cognitive rehabilitation allows her to understand the impact a Neurological condition can have on an individual’s thinking skills and, in turn, its impact on all other aspects of ordinary daily activities and therapeutic intervention. Having a broad skill set and clinical expertise in this area allows Ayesha to holistically assess and rehabilitate individuals with cognitive difficulties.

Ayesha is reliable, organised, and most of all extremely enthusiastic about supporting individuals through their rehabilitation journey. She is approachable and always finds time to go above and beyond for the client and the multi-disciplinary team around her. Ayesha’s ability to view the client in a holistic manner sets her aside from other professionals, and shines through in the rehabilitation outcomes she achieves with her clients.

Ayesha’s work in the public and private sector has spanned a range of both long-term, slow-stream and acute settings, providing fertile ground for developing and refining her skill set helping individuals with diverse conditions including spinal injury, traumatic brain injury, progressive neurological conditions and prolonged disorders of consciousness. She has treated individuals with additional complex needs, including those who are minimally conscious or in a persistent vegetative state and clients who require property adaptations.

Being a member of the Royal College of OT’s (RCOT) and the Neurological and Private practice Specialist interest groups has provided a network and an accessible evidence base to underpin Ayesha’s practice. Ayesha is passionate about working in Neurological Rehabilitation and always strives to provide the highest standard of Neurological rehabilitation possible.
