Alison subsequently practised as a senior OT within the specialist Head Injury Team at the Gloucester Royal NHS Trust, providing assessment and goal-oriented rehabilitation services to patients with Traumatic Brain Injury.

In 2005, Alison was appointed as the Programme Manager and Advisor to the Acquired Brain Injury Education Service, responsible for Occupational Therapy provision across a number of Colleges in Worcestershire. During this time, Alison also practised in the Gloucestershire wheelchair service, extending her knowledge and practice in postural assessment and seating provision.
