A hard-working, diligent professional providing specialist services for Adults for Medico-Legal cases, Private Clients and families, Local Authorities, Businesses and Charities.

Heather is passionate about occupational therapy and committed to best practice. As a strong team player, she takes a person centred approach, working collaboratively with the client, their family and the MDT on functional goals to make a positive impact on day to day functioning and quality of life.

She has gained clinical experience across the statutory and private sectors, including acute, post acute, specialist rehabilitation and the community. Heather spent four years working in a level 1b rehabilitation unit where she developed extensive skills in 24 hour postural management/seating, spasticity management and equipment prescription.

Heather is skilled in the assessment, treatment and evaluation of those with complex neurological needs. She has significant experience in brain injury, stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's and those in prolonged disorders of consciousness and has a particular interest in clients with cognitive and behavioural difficulties arising from brain injury.

Heather has many clinical interests and is committed to developing her own and others practice ensuring interventions are evidence based and meet best practice guidelines. Heather has presented at The International Trauma Conference on clients in prolonged disorders of consciousness and written for the OT News on Occupational Therapists working in Neurobehavioural units. 

Heather qualified in 2009 from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. She specialised immediately working with clients with neurological conditions, starting her career at The Kemsley Unit, St Andrews Hospital where she worked with adults with brain injury and severe challenging behaviour.
