A hardworking and conscientious Occupational Therapist providing specialist services for Children for Medico-Legal cases, Private Clients and families, Schools & Colleges, Local Authorities, Statutory Services, Businesses, Charities and Housing Associations.

Clare supports children and their families from birth to 18 years old presenting with a wide range of developmental, neurological, life limiting and progressive conditions including Cerebral Palsy, Autistic Spectrum Condition, Development Coordination Disorder and Down Syndrome. Clare has a highly valuable skills set based on her work with a broad spectrum of conditions and difficulties across a range of clinical settings and requirements, including Neurorehabilitation, Major Housing Adaptations, Rehousing and Equipment Provision, Manual Handling and Risk Assessment through to EHCP’s. Her work has had a particular emphasis on daily living skills as well as supporting posture, fine motor skills, handwriting and attention.

Clare has experience in liaising with mainstream schools to aid in the support of SENCO referred children. She has supported families with the transition to specialist units and transitioning to secondary school. Attending sessions in person to support as well as running programmes to support individualised needs and facilitate these transitions for the child and their families. 

A dedicated Occupational Therapist and a strong believer in working collaboratively to build strong therapeutic relationships, Clare is passionate about securing the best possible outcomes for a child and their family. As a caring and empathetic individual and mother, Clare understands some of the challenges families face and takes the time to really understand their individual situation.

Clare can assess a child’s and family's needs through various means including observations of occupational performance, standardised assessments if appropriate (including Movement ABC-2, Berry Test of Visual Motor Integration, Developmental Test of Visual Perception, Detailed Assessment of Speed of Handwriting or Sensory Profiles) talking to the family and professionals surrounding the child. She works in partnership with the family to set client centred goals and formulate therapy plans. 

Clare graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2014 with a First Class Honours Degree in Occupational Therapy and began specialising in Paediatric Occupational Therapy in 2015.
