Helen Spencer

Clinical Director

My personal and professional experience in this field is unique. Whilst I understand Brain Injury as an Occupational Therapy professional, I also have a lived experience as a sister of someone who suffered a brain injury as a result of a sudden brain hemorrhage. In all this time, we haven't lost sight of our founding principles, recognising that every Client, Customer and Team Member is a person; a loved parent, child or sibling, with hopes, dreams and aspirations.

The OT Centre is an opportunity for OT's to once more do what they trained for, providing specialist high-quality therapy to meet client needs and make a real difference.

What We Love About Swansea

Perhaps we're biased; our founders, Helen and Mark Spencer, have lived in South Wales since 2009! Setting that aside;

Natural Beauty and Beaches: Swansea is known for its breathtaking natural landscapes. Rhossili Bay, with its golden sands and iconic landscapes, including Worms Head, is a highlight for nature lovers. The Gower Peninsula, known for its stunning coastline and scenic walks, is another must-visit spot. Three Cliffs Bay, with its dramatic landscapes, and the broad expanse of Llangennith Beach at Rhossili Bay, offer awe-inspiring views.

Cultural Attractions: The county is rich in cultural heritage. The Dylan Thomas Centre, dedicated to the famous Welsh poet, provides an in-depth look into his life and works. Swansea's Grand Theatre hosts a variety of live events and performances, adding to the city's vibrant cultural scene.

Historic Sites: Exploring the ruins of Oystermouth Castle and visiting the Swansea Museum, which is the oldest museum in Wales, can provide a glimpse into the region's rich history.

Festivals and Events: The Swansea International Festival is a significant event featuring concerts, operas, and art exhibits. The Gower Festival is another notable event, offering performances of choral and chamber music.

Shopping and Markets: Swansea's indoor market, the largest in Wales, offers a unique shopping experience with over 100 stalls selling local delicacies and goods. The city center also has major shopping areas like Oxford Street and High Street.

Parks and Gardens: For those who enjoy green spaces, Clyne Gardens is renowned for its exotic plantings and beautiful landscapes.

Leisure and Entertainment: The LC Waterpark is a state-of-the-art facility that offers a fun experience for all ages. Mumbles, a vibrant seaside village, is known for its seafood, restaurants, and ice cream parlors.

Sporting Venues: The Swansea.com Stadium is a notable landmark, being the home to Swansea City FC and the Ospreys rugby team

Why Choose The OT Centre

Together We Make A Difference

Lindsay Tarasconi

Occupational Therapist

"I enjoy the variety of clients I work with at The OT Centre; I’ve had opportunities to work alongside individuals suffering from a variety of conditions.

There are greater opportunities to maximise interventions in regards to time and resources. It’s nice to work with people in their own homes and often, clients have a better understanding of their condition, which allows them to identify their own goals."

Lindsay qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2011, joining The OT Centre as an Occupational Therapist in 2014.
