We have a different approach. You are not just a number at The OT Centre. In all this time, we haven't lost sight of our founding principles, recognising that every Client, Customer and Team Member is a person; a loved parent, child or sibling, with hopes, dreams and aspirations.

The OT Centre is an opportunity for OT's to once more do what they trained for, providing specialist high-quality therapy to meet client needs and make a real difference.

What We Love About Caerphilly

Perhaps we're biased; our founders, Helen and Mark Spencer, live in South Wales close to family. However, that aside Caerphilly County Borough is known for its rich history, stunning landscapes, and vibrant community life;

Caerphilly Castle: The county is home to Caerphilly Castle, one of the largest castles in the United Kingdom and a remarkable example of medieval fortification. This grand castle is famous for its leaning tower, which predates the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Beautiful Scenery: The county boasts a variety of landscapes, from the lush, green valleys typical of South Wales to scenic mountain ranges. The area offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, and nature walks.

Industrial Heritage: Caerphilly has a rich industrial heritage, especially in coal mining and iron production. This history is reflected in local museums and heritage sites.

Community Spirit: The towns and villages in Caerphilly are known for their strong sense of community and friendly locals. Traditional Welsh culture and language are still very much a part of life here.

Local Festivals and Events: The county hosts various events throughout the year, including the popular Caerphilly Food Festival and the Big Cheese Festival, which celebrates local culture and produce.

Proximity to Cardiff: Caerphilly is conveniently close to Cardiff, providing easy access to the capital city’s amenities and attractions while maintaining its own unique character and quieter living environment.

Culinary Delights: The area is famous for Caerphilly cheese, a traditional Welsh cheese that's celebrated and enjoyed locally. The county also offers a range of dining options, from traditional pubs to contemporary restaurants.

Outdoor Activities: With its varied terrain, Caerphilly is great for outdoor sports and activities, including golfing, mountain biking, and fishing in its various reservoirs and lakes.

Historic Towns and Villages: Beyond Caerphilly town itself, the county has several charming towns and villages, each with its own history and character.

Cultural Attractions: There are numerous cultural attractions, including art galleries, theaters, and historical sites, reflecting the rich history and artistic talent in the area.

Endorsement from Vicky

Vicky Caldwell

Occupational Therapist

"As an Associate with The OT Centre I actually get to practice the OT we all dreamed about at University!

The clients are diverse, their goals are diverse and so there is never a dull moment. What I really value is the work life balance, as that has always been a major challenge working elsewhere.

I cannot rate highly enough the passion, knowledge and support each of The OT Centre team can offer, so even though I work in private practice I never really feel alone as there is a network of advice available as and when you need it."

Vicky qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2015, joining The OT Centre as an Occupational Therapist in 2020.
